Incheon 2026: Exploring the Future of ADR, Conflict Resolution, and AI

We are excited about an upcoming international conference near Seoul that comes at the perfect moment for the global conflict resolution and ADR community.

On October 15–16, 2026, colleagues, practitioners, scholars, policymakers, and students from around the world will gather live in the Songdo International Business Community in South Korea for an international conference examining the intersection of Conflict Resolution (CR), Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Artificial Intelligence, and emerging technologies.

The conference will be hosted at George Mason University Korea in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea which is approximately 45 minutes from Seoul.

Conflicts are increasing in complexity. Political polarization, identity-based tensions, organizational disputes, cross-cultural misunderstandings, online conflicts, and rapidly evolving technologies are reshaping the way people communicate, negotiate, and resolve disputes.

At the same time, artificial intelligence is moving into nearly every professional field — including mediation, arbitration, negotiation, online dispute resolution (ODR), and legal systems. AI tools offer opportunities for efficiency, analysis, accessibility, and innovation. But they also raise questions about ethics, confidentiality, procedural fairness, bias, empathy, and the future role of human judgment in conflict resolution.

This will not simply be a theoretical academic event. The goal is to bring together diverse voices from across disciplines and professions to explore practical, responsible, and human-centered approaches to the future of ADR and conflict management.

Conference topics will include:
• AI and technology in dispute resolution
• Human-centered AI and ethical concerns
• Cross-cultural conflict resolution
• Professional standards and innovation in ADR

One of the aspects we are most excited about is the international and cross-disciplinary nature of the conference. Bringing together people from different countries, legal systems, cultures, professions, and perspectives creates the kind of dialogue that simply cannot happen in isolated silos.

We are also planning an optional third-day visit to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). This experience will provide a powerful real-world lens through which to reflect on many of the broader geopolitical and human conflict themes discussed during the conference itself.

For those interested in attending, early bird registration is currently only $150 USD and includes:
• Two full days of programming
• Hosted networking lunches
• Curated refreshments
• Conference materials
• Certificate of Professional Development
